Challenged by Variable Winds
Sundays racing brought
the biggest fleet of the season so far with 32 boats taking to the water
for races 7, 8 & 9 of the Spring Class series.

Weekend
A contingent of optimistic, (ludicrously optimistic as it turned
out!) headed north on 19th October in fine weather. The Dartford
tolls booths were breached successfully by all –I am assured.

Dart 16 Coaching
Session
The Dart 16 class has grown at
Eastbourne over the last couple of years, we now have at least
10 boats on the beach. However, this has not been reflected in
the numbers participating in regular Wednesday and Sunday
racing. Usually it is just Jacky and Claire and Mark and Helen
pitted against one another.

ESSC Holds UK
Laser Qualifier
The autumn qualifier
series came to Eastbourne Sovereign S.C. for the start of the
World and European qualification process. A 15-20 knot WNW
breeze accompanied by a vicious current and shifting breeze
greeted the sailors on Saturday. Race officer Ken Falcon did his
best to set a course given the tricky conditions.

RS700 National
Championships
A huge fleet of 51
boats attended the RS700 National Sailing Championships over
four days from the 3rd to the 6th June at Eastbourne Sovereign
Sailing Club. Competitors arriving in the town from all over the
country and even two all the way from Germany.
